About FastBrew

FastBrew is a free, independent catalog of Homebrew formulas and casks for macOS. Its official website is fastbrew.app. It helps you find software, compare package details, and prepare an installation list for a new Mac or an existing setup.

From discovery to a Brewfile

Search by name or description, browse categories, and select the packages you want. FastBrew builds an installation command that you review and run in your own terminal. You can also import a Brewfile, export your selection, or share a link so someone else can review the same list. Browsing the catalog does not require an account.

Where the package information comes from

The catalog uses Homebrew package information. Formulas generally provide command-line tools; casks generally provide desktop applications. Versions, descriptions, and availability can change after a catalog update. Check the package's upstream homepage and Homebrew documentation for installation requirements, licensing, and support.

FastBrew is not the Homebrew project and does not maintain the software in its catalog. It prepares commands and package lists; installation happens on your computer when you choose to run Homebrew.

For developers and agents
